Sunset Tavern on 10/16/10

The Sunset Tavern is one of the more challenging venues to shoot a show in. The only color that is believed to be used is red. This makes it a challenge in post-production. You can make the photos black & white (or silver) to create more depth or if you get fortunate with the lighting you can get some quality shots. Below are some from this past Saturday night. The entire set is here.

5D Mark II | 50mm | f/1.6 | 1/200 | ISO 5000

This is over by the speaker next to the hall way to the bathroom. There is barely any light here so you can get some great shots like this, where you have a little bit of light. This was shot at.

5D Mark II | 200mm | f/2.8 | 1/80 | ISO 1600

This is to the side of the bar, but closer to the back stage area.
Ravenna Woods

5D Mark II | 50mm | f/1.4 | 1/125 | ISO 1250

Hazelwood Motel

I was against the wall that leads to the bathrooms and it provides a wide angel on a full frame where it would of been a lot tighter on a crop sensor.

  1. Awesome shots Colby! I really like the first one with the red back lighting.
