A portion of Seattle is split by the Duwamish River and then it feeds into the Puget Sound, and this is where it occurs.  The two bridges you see are the West Seattle Bridge & Lower West Seattle Bridge.  The Lower bridge is a swinging bridge to allow larger ships through.
